W.E. NATURE SOCIETY

The Wildlife-Environment Nature Club was established on July 29, 1994, by Pooja Panth, an alumna of Loreto College. It stands as a beacon of environmental advocacy and stewardship. This vibrant and fervently active society is dedicated to increase awareness about the perilous state of our environment and to cultivate a profound sensitivity towards nature among its members and the broader community.

The society, in SAMAGAM, organizes a plethora of intellectually stimulating events related to nature and environment, such as Photography, which invites submissions that encapsulate nature and environmental themes. Additionally, the society organized T-shirt and Tote Bag painting, alongside photography, as part of SAMAGAM 2023. The society also collaborates with NSS society for cleaning up drives .

Beyond the campus, the W.E. Nature Society actively engages in external events, including competitions hosted by the Alipore Zoo and seminars conducted by the West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBCPB). The society also boasts a Greenovation Club, which collaborates with the Switch ON Foundation to host intellectual symposiums and webinars focused on environmental issues. Furthermore, the W.E. Nature Club takes immense pride in its organization of college events commemorating Earth Day, International Bird Day, and numerous other environmental observances, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the preservation and protection of the environment.
