Kalakriti, the annual event organised by the Department of Psychology and the Psychology Society at Loreto College, is held every November. Since its inception in 2010, this event has been a platform fostering inclusivity and talent and stands as a beacon of celebration for unity in diversity.
The society extends formal invitations to various institutions and schools serving differently-abled children, for them to collectively showcase their unique strengths, exchange experiences, and engage in collaborative activities. A range of exciting on-stage and off-stage events are organized for the participants, accompanied by refreshments. Each event is presided over by a panel of esteemed judges, and at the conclusion of the program, awards are distributed to recognize and honor the participants’ efforts and the excellence demonstrated through their performances.
The success of Kalakriti is a testament to the enthusiastic participation of the attendees and the department’s unwavering commitment to creating an environment that fosters appreciation, sensitivity, and inclusion. The program's central objective is to cultivate empathy, dismantle stereotypes, and cultivate a deeper understanding of the importance of equal opportunities. Moreover, it highlights the diverse talents and perspectives that differently-abled individuals contribute to society.
