Following the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) Regulations for Redressal of Grievances of Students, 2023 (notification date: April 11, 2023), Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) has been formed in Loreto College The Committee will consider grievances in accordance with the UGC regulations.

Procedure for Redressal of Grievances by Ombudspersons and Student Grievance Redressal Committees:
Our university shall adhere to the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) Guidelines for Redressal of Grievances of Students, 2023 (notification date: April 11, 2023). Specifically:
- The College has an online portal where any aggrieved student may submit an application seeking redressal of her grievance.
- The institution will direct the complaint to the Students' Grievance Redressal Committee, along with its comments within 15 days of receipt of complaint on the online portal.
- The Students' Grievance Redressal Committee, shall fix a date for hearing the complaint. The student and the Institution will be apprised of the date of hearing. An aggrieved student may appear either in person at the hearing. However, if it is not possible for the student to appear in person she may authorize a representative to present the case.
- Grievances not resolved by the Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee within the time period provided in these regulations may be referred to the Ombudsperson by the university.
- Institutions shall extend co-operation to the Ombudsperson or the Student Grievance Redressal Committee(s), to facilitate in the early redressal of grievances.
- The Ombudsperson shall, after giving reasonable opportunities of being heard to the parties concerned, on the conclusion of proceedings, pass such order, with reasons thereof, as may be deemed fit to redress the grievance and provide such relief as may be appropriate to the aggrieved student
- The institution, as well as the aggrieved student, shall be provided with copies of the order under the signature of the Ombudsperson.
- The institution will comply with the recommendations of the Ombudsperson.
- The Ombudsperson is empowered to recommend appropriate action against the complainant, where a complaint is found to be false or frivolous.
- Confidentiality will be maintained as far as possible.
- In addition, there is a suggestion box where the students can put in their suggestions on infrastructure or any other aspect of the college.
