Internship

MODALITIES OF INTERNSHIP

CCF, 2022

The Internship Programme at the University of Calcutta presents students with a significant opportunity to acquire practical experience and enhance their academic learning. It is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. The details of the Internship Programme are outlined in the University of Calcutta document CSR/132/2024, dated November 14, 2024.

The primary objective of the Internship Programme is to establish a linkage between academic learning and market demands. The modalities of the Internship allow students to undertake placements during the 2nd, 4th, or 6th semesters of the four-year and three-year B.A./B.Sc. courses, as per the guidelines of CCF, 2022.

This Programme facilitates various forms of experiential learning, including field-based learning, community engagement, and conventional internships. It emphasizes skill development by encouraging students to participate in projects that foster critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Such experiences not only enhance students’ resumes but also build their confidence and sense of professional identity.

As envisioned by the University of Calcutta, the Internship Programme is an essential component of the educational journey. Through this initiative, the university strives to promote a culture of learning that extends beyond the classroom. At Loreto College, the Nodal Officer and departmental coordinators/mentors will assist in the preparations for the Programme, including the project preparation and evaluation process. The college will simultaneously coordinate with the University of Calcutta in conducting the viva voce for the Internship. While we encourage students to proactively seek internships, we are equally committed to providing support in their search.
