Society For The Promotion Of Indian Classical Music And Culture Among Youth (SPICMACAY)

The SPICMACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) society of Loreto College seeks to preserve and promote Indian classical music and art forms. This society, which has a presence nationwide, serves to provide students with a platform to showcase their talents and express their thoughts and ideas through dance, music and fashion in a way that inspires a sense of awe and reverence for the cultural arts in the hearts of their audience. We believe in the freedom of expression and that true art can be made possible only by providing individuals with a space, where they can explore themselves and hone their talents fearlessly.

We organize a series of events pertaining to classical dance, music and fashion. In addition, our society is known for its active involvement in an array of prestigious college events throughout the year. For Samagam, the annual college fest and the most sought-after college event of the year, SPICMACAY has always been entrusted with organizing the opening dance to start off the grand three-day program. We also encourage students from our society to participate and represent Loreto College in various inter-college events. This society promises to fulfil its duties and responsibilities to the best of its abilities.

In conclusion, SPICMACAY has sought not only to provide a platform for students to exhibit their talents but also foster a deeper appreciation for Indian classical arts and culture. Our events have been instrumental in preserving cultural heritage, promoting artistic growth, and building a sense of community among students from various academic disciplines.
