Research Interests:

Modern American Literature, Caribbean and Australian Literature, Short Story, literature of the Romantic Period and Partition Narratives.

  • Attended the 15th (1st Online) Refresher Course in English Literature and Language organised by HRDC, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi from 26 November to 10 December, 2020.

  • Presented the paper ’Acts of Music’: Vaudeville and Music in the Short Fiction of F. Scott Fitzgerald in August 2017 facilitated by the Loreto College Research Cell.
  • Presented the paper ’Whining, Tinkling, Hoochie-Coochie Show’: Vaudeville and Music in the Short Fiction of F. Scott Fitzgerald at the international conference The American Short Story: New Horizons organised by the Obama Institute at Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany from 5.10.2017-07.10.2017.
  • Presented the paper “Interrogating Austen’s Conservatism: Mansfield Park, Dido Belle and the Civilizing Mission” at the one day state level seminar organised by the Department of English, Jadavpur University on 27 February 2019. The seminar was titled ’From ‘the Great Tradition’ to Spin-Offs: Re-reading Jane Austen’
  • Delivered a special lecture - ’Partition Narratives: Madness and Memory’ at Rabindra Mahavidyalaya, Champadanga Hooghly on 4 February 2021
  • Delivered a special lecture titled ’History as Muse: Reading Derek Walcott’s ’A Far Cry From Africa’ at Gobardanga Hindu College on 01.07.2021.
  • Delivered a lecture on the literary History of the United States of America at Government General Degree College, Kharagpur II on 16 December 2021.
  • Delivered a talk titled ’From Slavery to Neo-Slavery: Domesticity, Motherhood and the Female Experience’ at Adamas University on 24 March, 2022.
  • Delivered a lecture titled "Flapper and the ’New Woman’: Reading the Women Characters in F. S. Fitzgerald’s Short Fiction" at Gokhale Memorial Girl’s College on 4 March 2022.
  • Delivered a special lecture on invitation at Calcutta Girl’s College on 6 April, 2023. Title of the lecture - "Mother India and Mothers of India: Tracing the Representation of Mothers in the Pre and Post Partition Landscape."
  • Delivered a special lecture at A J C Bose College on the evolution of the American Short Story.
  • Presented a paper at the 16th International Fitzgerald Society Conference on 28 June 2023 at Växjö, Sweden.
