Session on SWAYAM Course Orientation programme

A talk on SWAYAM Course Offerings and the procedure of registering oneself for any online course available through SWAYAM was organised by the Computer Department on November 25, 2024. The speaker for the event was Ms. Chandrani Sengupta, Head of the Computer Department and Co-ordinator of SWAYAM, Loreto College, Kolkata. The audience comprised students from all departments, faculty, and administrators keen to understand the registration process.

The importance of SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) was highlighted during the talk. The initiatives taken by the Government of India to promote accessible, equal, and quality education through this platform were emphasised. A detailed explanation of the diverse courses available, spanning disciplines such as computer science, engineering, humanities, and management, was provided.

Ms. Sengupta informed the participants that Loreto College, Kolkata was one of the Local Chapters of the SWAYAM programme and proceeded to elucidate the facilities and services available to the students as a result of the same. The registration process was also explained in detail, with a step-by-step presentation and information on the examinations that one would have to take at the end of each course.

The event was successfully conducted, and it was noted that such initiatives would immensely contribute to the academic and professional development of students and faculty members alike.
