Alpana-Making Competition
The Art and Craft Society organised an Alpana-Making competition on November 13, 2024. The theme of the event was “SHAKTI.” Its objective was to celebrate feminine creativity and women empowerment. Alpana, a traditional Indian folk art, was reimagined with feminist themes and messages by the participants, who created intricate designs and patterns centred around feminism and what women represent.
Five teams, each consisting of three to five students, participated in the competition. The first position was won by Upasana Ghosh (Department of Economics, Semester V), Meghna Sarker (Department of Economics, Semester V), and Piyasa Mukherjee (Department of Political Science, Semester III). Sharanya Majhi Majumdar, Neha Mondal, Eram Ansari, Sarah Rayees, and Anamika Singh (Department of Psychology, Semester I) comprised the team that secured the second position.
