Investiture Ceremony 2024

On July 1, 2024, Loreto College, Kolkata conducted the Annual Investiture Ceremony, Rising of the Phoenix, for the Student Council of the Academic Session 2024–2025. Elections had previously been held in a democratic manner for the posts of College President, Vice-President, and Treasurer, alongside the Society Heads and Class Representatives.

The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Bratya Basu, Honourable Higher Education Minister of West Bengal, who delivered an enlightening speech on the different educational policies established over the years. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a prayer dance, and a prayer song.

During the Investiture Ceremony, the Honourable Education Minister handed over the badges of office to the elected members of the Student Council. The members of the Council also took the oath of office, pledging their commitment to uphold the values and ideals of the institution with utmost dedication and responsibility. Each student attached a feather to an artistic representation of a rising phoenix, with every feather featuring a word associated with leadership. The solemn ceremony concluded with the singing of the Loreto Chorus.

The event served as a unifying platform, bringing together parents, guardians, faculty, and other
stakeholders of Loreto College to collectively celebrate the achievements of the students and extend heartfelt wishes for their forthcoming journey.
