HR Field Visit

The 3rd Years of the Psychology Department visited 'People Power', a human resources and management consultancy firm, located in Park Circus. The field trip was conducted over two days, April 22 and 25, 2022. The students interacted with Mr. Sandeep Mukherjee, CEO and Principal Consultant. His expertise and guidance from the past several years introduced students to the practical application and realistic side of human resource management and development and organisational development.
The interactive experience allowed students to clarify their doubts regarding MBA and Organisational Psychology as preferred routes of entry into the corporate world; the role of HR in the corporate sector; the role of Psychology in HR; incorporating skills and principles of HR into clinical practice among many others. The greatest takeaway from the trip was learning of the role of HR, in working with personnel to find, create and maintain ‘useful human beings’ that profit the company.
Students were shown samples of HR paper work like job design proformas, copies of psychological tests and sample employee handbooks which further enriched the field visit experience. This session allowed the students to correlate and integrate a lot of practical techniques with the concepts learnt as a part of the curriculum.
