Inspirational Talk: Ms. Portia Conrad
Ms. Portia Conrad, Director of Live to Love International and alumna of the batch of 2012 conducted two interactive sessions, on September 25 and 29, 2021.
The first session attended by Third Year students focused on Ethics in Public Life. Ms. Conrad highlighted the importance of commitment, ethics, sincerity, honesty and hard work on the personal and professional fronts. She encouraged students to learn from every experience and conversation they partake in and be perceptive to the importance of communication in all interactions. Through her experiences as former Student President of the College and as a working professional, Ms. Conrad inspired our young students to work hard and strive for excellence, as that is the only true way to attain lasting success.
On September 29, 2021 when she addressed the Second Year students her presentation was titled Be Your Own Hero. Her speech shed light on the initial plight of the Drukpa Nuns, their protest against oppressive patriarchy and their final uprising as an independent organisation of nuns, devoted to social welfare and martial arts. Ms. Conrad concluded her discussion with inspiring words, If the journey is not perilous, it is hardly a journey at all. Her words left a deep impact on young minds, and shall stay with the students for a long time.
