Mathematics Online Awareness Programme

A special online session on Mathematics for the underprivileged children on 26th of January, 2021 was organized by Loreto College. The program was conducted strictly under the Anti-Covid guidance released by the government.

The session was conducted by the faculty member who is also a staff advisor of National Service Scheme Society, Dr. Satyabrota Kundu and was volunteered by the President of NSS Society, Ramsha Neyaz. The principal of Loreto College, Sister Christine Coutinho and staff advisor of NSS Society, Rupa Ghosh were present as online observers during the program.

The children of a nearby slum at Park Street were the participants in the programme. Since the programme was on Mathematics awareness, Dr. Kundu asked basic questions on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to the children. They were also taught basics of mathematics from school level syllabus. Dr. Kundu tried his best to involve the children in the session and also make the session interesting and interactive. All the children were very interactive throughout the session and answered the questions enthusiastically.

The session was really good and enriching for the children. The College aims to conduct more such programs in the near future.
