Seminar on UGC NET Psychology



The Career Counselling Cell of Loreto College, Kolkata organised a seminar on UGC NET Psychology on March 26, 2025. The speaker, Ms. Sayani Banerjee, enlightened the attendees on the subject. It was an insightful and comprehensive session designed for postgraduate students of psychology, particularly those aspiring for careers in academia and research. The discussion revolved around the structure, syllabus, and strategic preparation for the examination, which serves as a gateway for lectureship and junior research fellowships in India.

The speaker elaborated on the two-paper format, with Paper I assessing teaching and research aptitude and Paper II focusing on core psychological concepts, theories, and applications. Emphasis was placed on understanding key domains such as cognitive psychology, social psychology, research methodology, and psychological testing. The seminar also highlighted the importance of critical thinking, application-based learning, and staying updated with recent advancements in psychology to enhance performance.
