Reunion of the Department of B.Ed.
On February 8, 2025, the students of the Department of B.Ed., Loreto College, Kolkata organised a reunion for the past trainees of the department. The event was eagerly anticipated by both the performers and the alumnae, who returned to the institution to recall and cherish memories from their time as trainees in the college.
The day began with a solemn prayer service and the chanting of the Ganesh Vandana by the students of the department. This was followed by a melodious medley. Soon after, the costume players and the dancers took to the stage and put up a series of vibrant performances. The play and dances had a retro theme to remind the alumnae of their colourful college days. The journey of the play mirrored that of indomitable Bollywood actresses who symbolise feminism.
Next, an energetic dance performance by the students of the department captivated the audience. In the meantime, refreshments were served to the alumnae, who relished them with great enthusiasm. The department also organised a game contest that engaged the alumnae and was thoroughly enjoyed by them. Various exciting games kept them on their toes.
Soon after, the class song was performed, evoking a sense of nostalgia. An address was delivered by the Head of the Department, Dr. Kaustuva Banerjee, after which the Teacher-in-Charge, Sr. Dr. A. Nirmala, encouraged and attentively listened to the colourful and varied journeys of the students who had been part of the department in the past. A convivial cake-cutting ceremony followed. The day ended on a bittersweet note with the everlasting theme "Forevermore."
