Loreto College received the Dr. Sashi Bhusan Ray Memorial Award 2023-24 from The Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, West Bengal
On January 20, 2025, members of the Social Service Society of Loreto College, Kolkata, accompanied by one of the staff advisors, Mrs. Sukanya Mullick, attended the Annual Convocation of the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, West Bengal. The programme commenced with the inaugural speech of the President of the Association, Sri. Sujit Kumar Dutta. Thereafter, the association honoured the donors who had donated blood and the organisations which had conducted blood donation camps 100, 75, 50, 25, and 10 times till March 2024. Sri Amit Das of Kolkata and Sri Prasanta Das of Hooghly were felicitated for achieving a milestone by donating blood 100 times.
In the following segment of the event, winners of the annual excellence memorial awards were felicitated. Loreto College, Kolkata was honoured with the Dr. Sashi Bhusan Ray Memorial Award for mobilising the maximum number of blood donors in the competition year 2023–24. Awards were also presented to the Diploma Course and State Level Certificate Course trainees for academic excellence. The ceremony organised by the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors was a truly inspiring and heartfelt occasion, recognising generous donors and organisations for their selfless contributions to a noble cause.
