International Webinar: Panel Discussion on Innovation, Transformation and Sustenance of Education through Digital Pedagogy by Department of Education
Department of Education in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)Loreto College organized an International Webinar: Panel Discussion on Innovation, Transformation and Sustenance of Education through Digital Pedagogy on August 31, 2020, on Google Meet 5.30 p.m onwards. The present world is witnessing an emergence of the ‘knowledge society’, changing educational landscape and increasing demand for specialization along with a transformation of information. Instead of this, the webinar addressed the intersecting relationship between diversification and internalization of education through digital technologies. It explored innovative pedagogical approaches for an interactive virtual world that has the potential to guide teaching and transform learning. It seeks to highlight issues that can enhance the creation and implementation of transformative innovations across educational institutions. The Resource Persons for the Webinar were Prof. Justin Paul, Professor,University of Puerto Rico, USA and Distinguished Professor- IIM Kozhikode & Symbiosis-Pune, Dr RituparnaBasu, Associate Professor and Marketing Area Chair, Associate Editor- IMI Konnect and International Management Institute- Kolkata. The Moderator for the Webinar was Dr ShabinaNishat Omar, Officer on Special Duty, Directorate of Public Instruction, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal. The resources persons through their deliberations facilitated participants to acquire an experiential understanding how education as a catalyst fostered social inclusion and enabled teachers to develop accessible models of education via innovative pedagogical approaches. They highlighted how digital technology has permeated all levels of teaching-learning in the education ecosystem and helped to transcend the gaps in knowledge by linking a vast multitude of students, instructors, experts and other significant stakeholders in the learning process. Faculty members from various colleges and Universities across West Bengal and the other States of India participated in the Webinar.
