Mock Newsroom by The Media Society

The first offline event of Media Society, Mock Newsroom, was held on 5th March, 2022 since the commencement of the post-pandemic life on Loreto Campus. The in-person meeting was held on the Loreto lawn during the lunch break, with the utmost caution to follow precautions to minimize the spread of COVID-19. The informal event was in the form of a Mock Newsroom, where participants were to impersonate prominent celebrities from the Indian media and share their views on “The condition of women in media." After a playful battle of wits, it was concluded by mutual voting that Sagarika Ganguly portraying Kangana Ranaut and belonging to History Honours second year deserved to be the best speaker of the afternoon. Utsa Pal of History Honours third year who portrayed Smriti Irani and Brishti Mukherjee of History Honours second year portraying Barkha Dutt received special mention.
