UG and PG Farewell Programme for the Batch of 2024
On May 31, 2024, a special programme was organised by the Student Council of 2024–25 to bid farewell to the final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students of Loreto College, Kolkata. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising the beginning of a new journey for the students passing out in 2024. This was followed by an inaugural dance that set the tone for the festivities of the day.
The first segment of the programme featured a skit that cleverly intertwined themes from the Mahabharata and Dead Poets Society. This theatrical performance was enhanced with musical interludes and dance sequences that showcased the artistic talents of the students. The graduating students also received special mementoes and were treated to a touching farewell video that compiled cherished moments from their final year in college. The segment concluded with an inspiring address by Sr. Dr. A. Nirmala, who offered words of wisdom and encouragement to the departing students.
The second segment commenced with another engaging skit, this time themed around “Bollywood Regality.” The performance incorporated semiclassical dances and musical renditions drawn from the history of Indian cinema. The other highlights of this segment were a fashion show based on the same theme and an electrifying dance performance by the college dance team, The Royals. The celebrations culminated with a spirited band performance that set the stage for an open dance involving all the attending students, bringing them closer in friendship and camaraderie.
