Career Counselling Session on The Erasmus + Programme
As its first event for the academic year 2023–2024, the Career Counselling Cell of Loreto College organized a presentation by Mr. Sanjeev Roy, Erasmus Mundus Scholar and UNESCO Fellow, on September 26, 2023. Mr. Roy spoke to the graduating batches (UG and PG) about the Erasmus+ Programme (Scholarships and Mobility). Highlighting the fact that Europe has a network of over 4000 universities with a strong academic ambience, Mr. Roy emphasized that the Erasmus+ Programme supports and funds education and skill-based training for European and international students and fosters cooperation between the European Union and other countries.
Mr. Roy discussed the full scholarships available to post-graduate students opting for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree and listed some of the high-ranking European universities participating in this programme. He underlined the flexibility and exposure offered by the programme, which allows students to earn multiple Master’s degrees across various disciplines from two or more European universities located in different countries. He also mentioned the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) project that offers funding and international experience to doctoral scholars.
The session was very interactive, with students having many queries regarding the scholarships, the mode of instruction at European universities, job opportunities, and the modalities of application. Mr. Roy provided the necessary information and online links to facilitate the students. It proved to be a fruitful and practical session, especially for those who aspire to go to Europe for higher studies.
