Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat

On March 11, 2023, a Poster Making activity was organized by the B.Ed. Department of Loreto College, Kolkata based on the theme, ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ depicting the social, cultural, religious, regional diversity of our country which creates national identity. Both digital and hand-made posters were prepared by the Semester IV students group-wise of the department and presented before the faculty members and the students, of which three vibrant digital/e-posters and two hand-made posters were displayed.
The main goal of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" initiative is to create realization of an integrated country where individuals from different states and Union Territories better understand and accept each another for which people across the nation carry out meaningful activities to encourage exchange and interaction in areas like language learning, culture, traditions, music, sports, tourism, cuisine, etc. The posters created by the students had the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ slogan and each one of them focused on a particular area.
One of the hand-made posters titled ‘Making India Play’ reinstated how sports is a unifying force that brings the entire nation together. Rising above caste, creed, sex, religion, region and language, the achievements of Neeraj Chopra, P.V. Sindhu, Mirabai Chanu, Bhavina Patel, U-19 Women’s Cricket team make the country proud beyond measure. The strength of India in the arena of sports resonates the world over. The other hand-made poster focused on India as a secular nation. The harmonious coexistence of all major religions in India is its greatest treasure; herein throughout the practice of tolerance contributing to the nation's rich cultural heritage. The digital/e-posters showcased the socio-cultural diversity of the country and how the nation acts as a melting pot for multifarious lifestyles beliefs and culture.
