Legal Awareness Workshop

In an effort to empower young women, Loreto College held a Legal Awareness Workshop for all final-year students on February 25, 2023. The Workshop was conducted by Dr. Monalisa Saha, an alumna of the College, currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law, University of Burdwan. The main objective of the Workshop was to introduce students to the many substantive, procedural, and evidentiary laws that are currently in force in India, especially those that deal with the defence of the rights of women and children. Through this workshop students were imparted helpful knowledge on how they may respond instantly if their rights are violated. Students were given an overview of important laws such as IPC 1860, Cr.P.C. 1973, POSH 2013, and POCSO 2012.
