JIS-CDC University Debate
Loreto College, Kolkata was represented at the JIS-CDC University Debate by Akanksha Tiwari and Neha Sen. The national-level debating competition was organized by the prestigious Calcutta Debating Circle on March 4, 2023. The debate, conducted over two rounds, brought together promising speakers from various parts of India as well as Bangladesh. The motion of the first round, moderated by Dr. Raju Raman, was “Educational institutions should incorporate artificial intelligence into their teaching and learning processes.” Neha Sen won the Best Speaker award for the first round. “Laws are made for political convenience, not national need” was the motion for the second round, which was moderated by Dr. Kunal Sarkar. The side proposition, of which Loreto College was a part, won the debate in the second round.
