International Conference: Asia in Global Affairs at Loreto College

Over May 5-6, 2022, Loreto College hosted an International Conference on China in India's Neighbourhood- Shifting Regional Dynamics and the Future Asian Power Politics. The conference was organized by Asia in Global Affairs in collaboration with the Indian Council of World Affairs, New Delhi, Institute of Foreign Policy Studies, University of Calcutta, Department of History, University of Calcutta and Loreto College, Kolkata. Conducted in the hybrid mode, the Conference saw the coming together of delegates from across Asia. The exhaustive deliberations and interactions highlighted various aspects of China's growing impact in the region and its consequences for other countries. A Round Table for students, allowed young scholars to put forward their perspective on China in India's neighbourhood. Loreto College was represented by Yukti Khanna and Zainab Taher Sohangpurwala of the third year, Political Science Honours class. This Conference was a result of the joint commitment of Asia in Global Affairs and Loreto College, Kolkata as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two institutions
