Being away from College for nearly a year and a half due to the Covid-19 pandemic has been difficult for teachers and students alike. Defying the odds, the students of Loreto College expressed their sincere appreciation for their teachers by organizing a virtual Teacher’s Day programme. The pre-recorded programme was premiered on the College’s YouTube channel on September 5, 2021. A prayer service with a rendition of hymns was a gentle reminder of the thoughtfulness of the students and their sincere good wishes for their teachers. Through their art work and a theatrical representation of the lives of famous teachers, students depicted the relationship shared between a teacher and student and what it means to them. In spite of the celebration being a virtual one, the students performed songs and dances put together with great love. A skit exhibiting the perils of online classes through the lives of popular fairytale characters was a humorous take on the virtual mode of learning, with the hope that we may be able to resume physical classes on campus at the earliest.
