Heritage Course, Department of History

The Department of History held its Annual Certificate Course on Heritage Awareness from February 6 to April 14, 2021. The theme for this year was “Built Heritage”. The speakers were Mr. Anindya Basu, Mr. Partha Das and Mr. Manish Chakravarty who are all renowned architects of India. The topics ranged from the Alhambra Palace in Spain to Serampore located at the outskirts of Kolkata. Due to the pandemic the lectures were held online and the students were asked to prepare a project on a heritage building in India, its significance, the risks it faces and ways of preserving and protecting the structure.
