Report on Staff Development Seminar - A Talk on Intellectual Property Rights and Copyright Laws in India
In every professional field there is constant evolution in terms of ideas, tools and techniques. Intellectual property refers to “the creations of the human mind like inventions, literary and artistic works and symbols, names, images and designs used in commerce”. On February 13, 2021, a Staff Development Seminar was organized by the College on Intellectual Property Rights and Copyright laws in India. The session was conducted by Mr. Rudraman Bhattacharyya, a senior advocate, practicing in Calcutta High Court. The seminar familiarized the staff with the concept of intellectual property, its protection and enforcement in the context of the Indian legal system. Special emphasis was laid on copyright laws and its applicability in educational institutions and the teaching process.
