Independence Day Celebration, 2022

The Department of B.ED., Loreto College, Kolkata, organized a programme on August 15, 2022 to celebrate India’s 75th anniversary of Independence. The theme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav as directed by the Government of India to commemorate the special celebration was manifested throughout while instilling a feeling of national pride amongst students and encouraging young minds to honour and acknowledge the eminence and prowess of India as a nation. The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag followed and a Prayer Service by the AICUF. Dr. Rupa Ghosh, Head Department of Economics and faculty, Department of B.Ed. delivered a speech highlighting India’s journey thus far and the road ahead. The speech was followed by cultural performances and presentations by the students. Flags with seeds were distributed among all those in attendance to ensure planting of new life and conservation of the environment on this day of celebration.
