Online School Survey Report
Department of B.Ed., Online School Survey Report
The 43 trainees of Semester IV of the Department of B.Ed. conducted online school surveys on four schools as part of the B.Ed. course Practicum. It was a first of its kind due to the Pandemic situation. The school surveys were conducted on Google Meet platform in the following schools - Our Lady Queen of The Missions School, Salt Lake, Loreto Day School, Dharamtala, St. Paul’s Boarding and Day School and Loreto Day School, Sealdah on May 10, 11 and 17, 2021 respectively. The B.Ed. trainees were enriched with knowledge of the mission, vision of the schools, along with details of academic orientation, infrastructural facilities, time-table details, teacher-student ratio, library facilities, co-curricular activities and student self- government. Through the survey the B.Ed. trainees appreciated the opportunities provided by each school for remedial and enrichment teaching-learning, special achievements of the schools and innovative practices followed by them to enrich the lives of the young students. Understanding the practical issues faced by school students during the Pandemic situation and the measures the schools have adopted to help the children to cope with the present challenging times has been a learning experience for the future teachers. We are deeply grateful to all school Principals - Sr. Sherly Sebastian, Mrs. Meenakshi Kapur, Sr. Rosli Kerketta and Ms. Margaret King for their permission and support to conduct the online school survey in these difficult times. We are very grateful to the teachers of each school- Ms. Sanjukta Kundu, Ms. Debjani Mahajan, Ms. Sabrena Pote and Ms. Roshni Ghosh for providing detailed information of their schools and for their patience and cooperation. The online school surveys were a unique learning experience for the students of the Department of B.Ed.
