Interview Skills and C.V. Writing Session
The Career Counselling Cell, Loreto College, organised an interactive session on Interview Skills and C.V. Writing. The speaker was Mr. Sauraveswar Sen. Mr. Sen highlighted how the concept of Curriculum Vitae has immensely changed in the last few years. Given that employers now prefer a soft copy of the C.V. which they can access from their computer and their phones, one has to make the C.V. appealing and modify the formatting. The next crucial step which he suggested is the personal interview for which a candidate has to have some preparation. He urged the students to attend as many webinars and courses as possible as they can learn something from each course. He explained that in an interview, display of action-based projects, work experience (or volunteering) are the key areas which the employers look for rather than theoretical knowledge Mr. Sen stressed on the fact that the knowledge acquired from such courses will definitely help them come up with more confidence during the interviews. The session was attended by students of Semester Six and B.Ed. department, who constitute majority of the job aspirants.
