NSS Outreach Programme at Jwalaberia Adibasi F. P. School, Mathurapur, 24 Parganas (South)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Society of Loreto College, Kolkata visited Jwalaberia Adibasi F. P. School located in South 24 Parganas on March 16, 2024. This outreach programme was conducted in collaboration with Samobeto, a non-profit organisation working for marginalised groups in the education and health sectors. A team of 8 volunteers visited the school to engage and interact with its students. The school caters to about 60 students in the age group of 3–6. Various kinds of learning and interactive activities were conducted for the students by the NSS volunteers. The children also showcased their talents enthusiastically by reciting poems, singing, and dancing. The experience sensitised the volunteers towards the needs and challenges of the marginalised sections of society. The volunteers had to go out of their comfort zone to learn the significance of offering selfless service to people living on bare minimum resources.
