Study Tour to Alipore Jail Museum



The Department of Political Science organized a study tour for third-year students on March 2, 2024, to the Alipore Jail Museum. A total of 35 students participated in the tour, which was accompanied by four faculty members.
The Alipore Jail Museum offered a comprehensive exploration, encompassing Barracks, Gallows, Police Museum, Galleries on Freedom Fighters, exhibits on display, Open Theatre, and the Cellular Jail with voice assistance. The study tour proved to be an engaging and enlightening experience, allowing students to gain insights into the hardships endured by freedom fighters of the Indian independence movement who were detained in the Central Jail during the colonial period.
This excursion served as an exposure for the students of the department providing them with a profound understanding of the political history of the country. The active engagement of the students and the cooperation extended by the professors in the department played a pivotal role in making the study tour a resounding success.
