Blood Donation Camp -NSS

On May 25, 2023, a Blood Donation Camp was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Society, Social Service Society, and AICUF in the Loreto College campus, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Calcutta, Mahanagar and Lions Clubs International District 322B1. The camp is conducted every year to generate awareness and encourage all healthy adults to donate blood for those in need. Individuals who were between 18 to 60 years of age and who weighed over 45 kgs were considered eligible for donation. They also had to answer a few additional questions and undergo a haemoglobin test before they were deemed fit to donate blood. The camp successfully registered 64 donors for the campaign, including students from all the years, their family members, and even the Principal of Loreto College, Sr. Dr. Christine Coutinho. The doctors, nurses, and Society volunteers ensured that each donor took adequate rest and food before resuming their regular activities. The programme was successful due to the dedicated efforts of the organisers and the selfless generosity of the donors.
