BLS training is critical since it comprises detecting warning signs of a heart attack, stroke and foreign body airway blockage and providing basic care. The BLS training covered various emergency situations, such as choking, cardiac arrest, and injuries, and demonstrated the proper techniques to provide immediate assistance to anyone in need.
As part of the BLS training session, 30 students, including a few faculty members, were trained in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), which proved immensely beneficial to the College. CPR certifications were distributed to the participants.
Dr Sanjukta Dutta, highlighted the importance of BLS and CPR training for everyone. She pointed out that being equipped with the knowledge of how to respond during an emergency could be the difference between life and death; and college students are at an age where they can effectively learn these skills and benefit from them.
