Dengue Awareness Rally

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Society of Loreto College actively participated in the Dengue Awareness Rally organized by the NSS, University of Calcutta on November 11, 2022. The participants walked from Deshbandhu College (Rashbehari Avenue) to Basanti Devi College (Gariahat).
The rally highlighted important facts about the disease, its symptoms, and the measures to be adopted by the public to keep their area free of dengue. NSS volunteers carried posters urging people not to allow water stagnation in their surroundings; to ensure that overhead tanks are kept clean and capped; and to properly dispose of coconut shells, old tyres, and other objects that may collect water in order to avoid breeding of mosquitoes. The programme also stressed that people showing symptoms of fever should immediately visit qualified medical professionals for timely treatment.
The Honourable Regional Director of NSS and the NSS Programme Coordinator of the University of Calcutta emphasized the importance of the Dengue Awareness Rally and cheered for its success.
