IBM Workshop
Shromona Dey, Senior Associate CSRBOX, IBM conducted a workshop on August 26, 2022 for Semester 3 and 5 students on the IBM Skill Build Project. This venture is a digital learning platform that aims to build digital skills, workplace skills and life skills in students for enhancing their employability. IBM provides around 7500 free courses to the students that help in building upon the skill-gap that the students might face in the real world situations. This is in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020. The courses on the platform are designed by reputed organisations like Oxford, Adobe, IBM to name a few.
At the onset Ms Dey stressed on the importance of a resume. She highlighted on significant aspects to be kept in mind while designing a concise, accurate and a clear resume followed by information regarding what needs to be kept in mind to create a positive impact at an interview.
Ms Dey moved on to getting the students registered for the IBM Skill Build platform to give them access to the plethora of courses and explained how the students could take courses of their choice and have access to other facilities such as international mentoring and internships. The badges and certificates provided on the completion of each course are of high value and are industry recognized. Students must add them to their CVs to enhance their chances of finding jobs in the future. Quizzes and competitions are held at a global level. Live classes and Master classes by experts are also available for students along with personalized mentoring and guidance.
The IBM Skill Build platform allows the college administrations to monitor the progress of their students.
