Richness of College life
The Semester 3 students were privileged to attend a talk on Richness of College life delivered by a former student of the College, Ms Devika Chirimar on August 10, 2022.
Ms Chirimar who is currently pursuing a PhD programme in Economics at Georgetown University shared her experience as a student of Loreto College and focused on the important take aways from campus life at Loreto. She reminisced her journey in Loreto College as a fresher who had low self-esteem to becoming Vice President of the College Student Council. In the course of sharing her experience she highlighted the values instilled by the College that have helped in shaping her as an individual and which continue to guide and help her face challenges that life has to offer. Ms Chirimar emphasized on the need to develop values of humility, discipline, modesty, time management while balancing academics and other passions, a skill honed as a student and office bearer in the Student Council of the College. It was indeed wonderful for present students to hear about the ‘richness’ of College at Loreto from a former student who has undisputedly realised her goals in academics. It is no mere feat to be accepted onto a PhD programme in a renowned University like Georgetown University, U.S.A. and Loreto College is proud of her achievements.
