Self-Defence Workshop on International Women's Day

To celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, 2022 the NSS Society of Loreto College in collaboration with IQAC Cell organized a workshop on ‘Self-Defence' in the College premises. Ms. Shankhabela Mukherjee, 3rd Dan Shotokan Karate Black belt, Licensed Instructor and Assistant Professor in the department of Psychology of the college was the resource person of the program. A total of 40 students participated in the workshop.

In the 40-minute-long workshop, the students were made aware of the importance and basic ideas of self-defence. The workshop focused on teaching self-protection while using public transportation or visiting crowded places and when attacked by miscreants, with special emphasis on time and position management techniques.

The workshop helped in spreading awareness about self-defence techniques and their usefulness in an individual’s life.
