The Annual Dr Neelu Singhvi Sancheti Memorial Lecture

The Department of Education in association with the IQAC, Loreto College organized the annual Dr Neelu Singhvi Sancheti Memorial Lecture on November 13, 2021. The special lecture was delivered by Mrs. Sudha Murty, Chairperson of Infosys Foundation. The programme commenced with a prayer service followed by a pre-recorded presentation by Mrs. Murty. Through her lecture, Mrs. Murty emphasized that students are the future of a nation, and that it is the responsibility of the education system to enlighten them about the history and culture of their nation. She pointed out that the feeling of nationalism can only gain ground when young people are made aware of the glorious past to which they belong. Hence, if students are to be moulded into responsible citizens of the nation, it is not enough to provide them with pure subjective knowledge. They must also be taught to respect their cultural heritage with a spirit of patriotism. The study of history resonates in each one of us the battles fought and the rights demanded in connection with our motherland.

The programme was attended by the family members of Dr Neelu Singhvi Sancheti, all the students and faculty members of the Departments of Education and B.Ed., the faculty members of Loreto College, and the members of the Student Council.
