Online Essay Competition conducted by The Department of Economics

The Department of Economics had organized an online essay competition Write Your Mind in the month of June. The topic for the essay competition was ‘Socio-economic inequality in the post-pandemic era.’ All the three semesters have participated in the competition. The competition was organized to help the students develop writing and analytical skills, expose themselves to diverse information and gain insight to translate their thoughts and ideas with precision and clarity. The students have been able to gain knowledge about theoretical and empirical facts related to contemporary issues and understand real-life situations. The essays are being judged by Dr. Sudeshna Ghosh, Associate Professor of Scottish Church College, Ms. Koyesha Mukherjee, Trade Policy Advisor, Department for International Trade, Government of UK and Ms. Navnidhi Begwani, Assistant Manager, Forensic Research and Corporate Intelligence, Deloitte. The department has planned to publish a volume of the essays as a peer-reviewed publication.
