JAM Session

On June 4, 2021 the Western Cultural Society organized a musical event ‘Jam Session’ for all students of Loreto College. The event took place on Google Meet. The event saw the participation of eager students from all three years who attended, either to sing, talk or simply listen to the performances. Participation was completely voluntary and there was no competition but only spontaneous interactions. The purpose of this session was to help everyone to briefly deviate from their daily routines, unwind, enjoy and momentarily turn away from the constant gloom and despair that surrounds us as the corona virus pandemic rages on. Music has always been known to have a therapeutic value and the jamming session was organized keeping in mind the times we are living in. It was also to provide the students with a conducive environment where they could interact with other students and share their musical talents without any fear of judgement. The students were extremely enthusiastic, participative and interactive throughout the session. Apart from soulful singing there were lively discussions on music as well.
