Report on Loreto College Alumnae Association (LCAA) Webinar (27/09/2020)

On September 27, 2020 the Loreto College Alumnae Association (LCAA) had organized a webinar-cum-panel discussion on ‘Covid-19: Entrepreneurial Challenge or Opportunity? Conversations with Loreto College Achievers.’ Former students of Loreto College, women who have made their mark as entrepreneurs, were invited to deliberate on how they were coping with the challenges caused by the lockdown due to the corona virus pandemic. The virtual panel discussion on Google Meet platform, was moderated by the writer-editor, Anjum Katyal. The diverse panel comprised: Asma Khan, London-based restaurateur; Jayapriya Vasudevan, publisher, Oindrilla Dutt, event manager; Neelum Saigal, craft manufacturer, Rikhia Guha, jewellery designer; Rajeswari Vaidyanathan, Latin and ballroom dancer; Neha Rungta, craft store owner; and Shristi Kothari, baker. The eight entrepreneurs constituted two panels – one of experience and wisdom; the other of youthful dynamism. The conversations reflected on the struggles of these women during a time of crisis; and their ability to triumph over difficulties. A short presentation was also featured, mentioning the works of other entrepreneurs from Loreto College. The event was attended by past pupils of the College, Alumnae Association members, as well as the faculty.

Report on Annual Open Day and Loreto College Alumnae Association (LCAA) Annual Reunion (8/02/2020)

The Annual Open Day, a special initiative of Loreto College and its Alumnae Association, was held on February 8, 2020. This was an endeavour to help NGOs in raising funds, and extend support to women entrepreneurs. The college grounds were thrown open on the day, where NGOs and women entrepreneurs were invited to set up stalls and sell their products. As many as 12 NGOs and 19 women entrepreneurs participated in the event.
After the Open Day, the Annual Reunion for past pupils was held on the same evening, which was attended by about 100 people – including former students, current faculty, retired teachers, some of the Sisters of the Community, and two former Principals of the College. A small lucky draw event was organized on the occasion and 30 prizes were given away. All attendees were also given a hamper.
