Annual Reunion 2016
The first Saturday of February is always special for the Loreto College alumnae. It is a day of coming back home - to the alma mater. This year the college celebrated the 16th Annual Reunion on Saturday, the 6th of February, 2016, this time in the Concert Hall. The programme though short, extended its usual charming welcome to past students and teachers. Under careful supervision of the Loreto College Alumnae Association, the Reunion started with a short inaugural address by Principal and President of the Association, followed by a short speech by Ms. Sucheta Mukherji, a former teacher and Head of the Department of English, and the present Vice-President of the Association.
This year’s Reunion would be remembered for a very special happenstance – the presence of three former Principals of the college – Sister Maeve Hughes, Sister Claire Macfarland and Sister Tina Farias, whose presence was an added grace to the spirit of nostalgia that pervaded the hall. Sister Maeve and Sister Tina took turns to share their happy memories of times past. Their words struck a note in the hearts of all the Loretonians gathered there. This was reinforced once more with the formal closure of the programme with the Loreto choral anthem. The programme was followed by a sumptuous high tea consisting of snacks and sharing of memories.
