Earth Day 2024

The W.E. Nature Society of Loreto College, Kolkata, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, organised a two-day workshop on April 18 and 19, 2024 to commemorate Earth Day 2024. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Devopriya Dutta, Coordinator of Tarumitra, Patna. She interacted with the students during the orientation session and demonstrated the small but sensitive steps individuals can take in their daily lives to conserve nature.

On April 18, around 60 Semester VI students of Loreto College actively participated in the workshop. The students made bird feeders, bird nests, seed bombs, and eco-friendly rangolis. On April 19, students from eight schools across the city were invited to participate in the event. The school students made eco-friendly items with ordinary everyday materials and were appreciated for their innovative efforts. The event concluded with a session for the non-teaching staff of the college. The workshop taught the importance of conservation to the participants and showed them how to use their limited resources to care for the planet.
