Workshop on First Aid and Basic Life Support



On April 3, 2024, the Semester II students of the Department of B.Ed., Loreto College, Kolkata attended a workshop on ‘First Aid and Basic Life Support’ organised by the Institute of Preventive Awareness, Kolkata and the Department of B.Ed. in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). This event proved to be an enriching experience for the teacher-trainees, providing them with valuable knowledge and skills that they can utilise to assist their future students in times of need.

The workshop commenced with the introduction and felicitation of the esteemed resource persons, Mr. Pradip Mondal and Mr. Chandan Mitra from the Institute of Preventive Awareness. The core segment of the workshop featured a comprehensive presentation on a wide range of emergencies that individuals may encounter. The presentation provided detailed explanations on how to offer first aid in such situations. A highlight of the workshop was the hands-on practice session, where participants had the opportunity to learn practical skills such as bandaging for fractures, bleeding wounds, and head injuries. The session was highly interactive, allowing the teacher-trainees to participate actively by posing their doubts and queries, which were promptly addressed and cleared.
