B.Ed. Farewell Programme for the Class of 2024

On May 30, 2024, the first-year students of the Department of B.Ed. organised a heartfelt farewell programme for the B.Ed. batch of 2022–2024. The programme began with a traditional tilak ceremony for the seniors and professors, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Acting Teacher-in-Charge, Sister Dr. A. Nirmala. This was accompanied by the prayer song "It Only Takes a Spark" and succeeded by a reading of the scriptures.

The event featured an opening song, “Time of Our Lives,” and a beautiful dance to timeless melodies such as "Ei Lobhinu Songo Tobo" and "Bhenge Mor Ghorer Chabi." The outgoing batch put up their final performance at Loreto College before taking their oath as future teachers.

A game involving the sharing of memories from the past two years brought laughter and nostalgia. The first-year students then presented a musical medley and surprised everyone with a dance performance. They also sang the “Friends” theme song, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The Head of the Department of B.Ed., Dr. Kaustuva Banerjee, addressed the outgoing batch, emphasising that they would always be part of the Loreto family. Subsequently, Sister Dr. Nirmala distributed plaques to all the students of the Class of 2024. In her address to them, she used the metaphor of a garden to illustrate how, as teachers, they will encounter unique individuals who must be nurtured.

The programme concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony by the Class of 2024, after which refreshments were served. The seniors wrote heartfelt messages on the message walls and were each given a plant as a gift.
