On the 9th of November the Department of Economics in Loreto College organized their annual Economics student’s meet, Ecolore 2019. This year the theme of the meet was Global Economic Vulnerability: Vicissitudes of India. The chief guest was Professor Saibal Kar. The event started with an extremely educational presentation by the chief guest on the theme of the day. Next the participants moved on to the various events such as paper presentation and debate. For the paper presentation event ’Pitch the Plight’ in first place was Loreto College and in second place Lady Brabourne College. For the essay writing competition ’Tract on Track’ the first place and second place was acquired by Loreto College and in third place was Lady Brabourne College. For debate the motion was: "THBT the $5 trillion economy is an elusive myth", the best speaker for the motion went to Loreto College, best speaker against the motion went to St. Xaviers University and best team went to Loreto College. Finally, the best college trophy was bagged by Loreto College. All in all it was quite an enriching experience for everyone there specially as academicians.
