Political Science Department of Loreto College organized a seminar for the students of the first and second years on 4 and 5 April, 2019. The seminar addressed the topic ’Importance of Voting’ in India. The role of the youth in determining the election results and building the government was discussed at great lengths. The students were informed about the various dimensions of electoral participation and the ethical measures to be adopted while voting. The SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program) and its primary goals in building a truly democratic society were discussed. The seminar was engaging and made the students aware of their responsibilities as young voters.
