Christmas Pageant 2024

The AICUF Society, in collaboration with the Dramatics Society of Loreto College, Kolkata, hosted a vibrant and heart-warming Christmas Pageant on December 20, 2024. Students, faculty members, and guests gathered in large numbers to enjoy the event.

The Christmas Pageant aimed to celebrate the spirit of Christmas, promote unity among students, and showcase their creative talents. The hall was adorned with festive decorations, including twinkling fairy lights, a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, and an elaborate nativity setup.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from an AICUF Society member, who emphasised the importance of community and compassion during the festive season. The cultural performances were the heart of the Christmas Pageant, captivating the audience with a variety of artistic expressions that beautifully reflected the spirit of the season.

The Dramatics Society staged a nativity play that re-enacted the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. The performance highlighted the themes of faith, humility, and hope through a compelling narrative. The roles of Mary, Joseph, the three wise men, shepherds, and angels were portrayed with remarkable depth and emotion, leaving the audience mesmerised. The live vocals of faculty member Camellia Choudhuri added authenticity and charm to the performance.

The college choir presented a medley of traditional and contemporary Christmas carols. The set list included classics such as “O Holy Night,” “Joy to the World,” and “Silent Night.” However, it was the upbeat tunes of “All I Want for Christmas” and “Jingle Bells” that truly brought the crowd to life. Another major highlight that captivated the audience was the appearance of Santa Claus and Rudolph with bags of gifts, creating an atmosphere of joyous festivity.

Sr. Mary delivered the Christmas Message of 2024, while Sr. Dr. A. Nirmala, Teacher-in-Charge of Loreto College, delivered a heartfelt closing speech, thanking the organisers and participants for their efforts in making the event a grand success. She also reminded everyone of the significance of kindness and generosity during the holiday season.

The Christmas Pageant 2024 left the attendees inspired and uplifted. It brought together the college community in a shared celebration of the Christmas spirit, showcasing the creativity and collaborative spirit of the students. The celebration concluded with a collective singing of “Feliz Navidad,” spreading happiness and festive cheer among all present.
