1. The Medium of Instruction in this college is English hence the ability to communicate in English is necessary
2. A Pass in the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination in FOUR recognized subjects of which one should be English
3. Students from Edexcel (London), CIE (Cambridge) and IB Boards and other countries may also apply
4. A candidate who has passed H.S. (10+2) Examination or its equivalent Examination in 2012 or after, is eligible to seek admission to the 1st year B.A./B.Sc. Courses of Studies provided she has also passed an English Paper with full marks not being less than 100
5. Students from a Pure Science background may also apply for any subject, provided they had a related subject at H.S / ISC / CBSE Examinations.

COUNSELLING :

Before filling in the online forms, if you wish to avail of Counselling regarding choice of subjects, you are welcome to meet our Teachers in college (as given in IMPORTANT DATES )between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Please bring your class X, XI, XII Report Cards, Board Mark Sheets and other relevant documents.

RESERVED CATEGORY :

CHRISTIANS, S.C., S.T., O.B.C, PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED AND OTHER CHALLENGED CANDIDATES,SPORTSWOMEN AND PERFORMING ARTISTS DESERVING OF CONSIDERATION - may meet the Principal, if available, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sportswomen and Performing Artists should carry their certificates of participation and accomplishment at State and National level. However, please note, Meeting the Principal does not ensure admission.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE :

After submitting the filled in Application Form online, a print-out (hard copy) of the Online Application Form must also be submitted to the College – (open, all documents neatly stapled BEHIND Application Form to be dropped into the drop box kept on the ground floor of the college building) within the stipulated date, between 7.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. with copies of Marksheets / Certificates attached (attestation should be done wherever necessary as mentioned on the Application Form). If a student is applying for more than one course, separate copies of all relevant documents should be attached to the Application Form. The online payment receipt must be attached. Copies of Baptism Certificate and Reference from the Parish Priest (for Christians), Caste Certificates (for S.C. / S.T. /O.B.C. candidates), Disability Certificate from the Medical Superintendent, Government of West Bengal should also be attached, if applicable.

All information regarding admission (including dates of the various stages of admission) will be available on the Website (www.loretocollege.in) and on the College Notice Board. No information will be provided over the phone or at the office.

FINAL SELECTION :

Selection and Admission in Loreto College is done on the basis of merit, and the following are taken into consideration :

• Marks of the Qualifying Examination
• Written Tests and / or Interface Meeting
• A study of the School Reports , Character Certificates

INTERFACE AND ADMISSION :

A final list of candidates selected to meet Department Teachers and the Principal for the Interface Meeting will be put on the Website/College Notice Board (within the stipulated date). At the time of the Interface Meeting, candidates must come in with at least one parent and bring all the necessary ORIGINAL documents. After the Interface Meeting, if admission has been confirmed, the fees are to be paid at the College Counter of State Bank of India Middleton Row Branch. After payment of fees, the candidate must fill in the Admission Form in the College. The ORIGINAL MIGRATION CERTIFICATE (for students from all Boards other than the W.B.H.S., C.B.S.E., I.S.C. and N.I.O.S.), must be submitted at that time. Failure to do so will mean that the name will be cancelled and the seat will be given to the next candidate on the Waiting List.

• Incomplete forms will not be considered
• If a form no. has not been generated it means something went wrong. Please resubmit
• Fees once paid will not be refunded. The admission is Final only when the Admission Form is completed and all documents have been submitted.
• If admission has already been taken at another college, kindly have that admission cancelled to enable completion of admission formalities at our end.
• After admission, if for some reason you do not intend to join Loreto College , kindly inform the College Office at the earliest so that other students who are on the Waiting List may be given an opportunity for admission.
• There are a few seats available in the college hostel for Catholic students only.
• Hostel facilities are also available within a 2 km radius of the college.

APPLICATION FORMS SUBMITTED WITHOUT RELEVANT DOCUMENTS AND ONLINE BANK PAYMENT RECEIPT, WILL BE REJECTED.
