Kindly note: All Lectures at Loreto College are in English. Hence, fluency in English is very essential for a student to be able to understand/follow lessons. The student must also be able to express herself freely in English to enable her to do well in her written work/viva voce. This applies to all subjects except Hindi and Bengali.

B. A. HONOURS

Loreto College offers B. A. Honours Courses in ENGLISH /EDUCATION / HISTORY / POLITICAL SCIENCE / PSYCHOLOGY / GEOGRAPHY

A candidate wishing to apply for B. A. Honours must choose her Honours subject from any ONE of the above and her TWO Elective subjects from Groups I to VIII given below, (NOT TAKING MORE THAN ONE SUBJECT FROM EACH GROUP as Honours / Elective subjects).

Please note, the Honours and Elective subjects must not be identical. The Honours and Elective subjects must not be from the same Group.

Group - I	Education / Film Studies / Human Rights
Group - II	History/Mathematics
Group - III	Sociology
Group - IV	Economics
Group - V	Political Science
Group - VI	Journalism & Mass Communication / Psychology * (*only if you had Psych. at Class XII level) / Geography *(*only if you had Geog. at Class XII level)
Group - VII	English (Limited seats)
Group - VIII	Bengali / Hindi

B.SC. HONOURS

Loreto College offers:

B.A. GENERAL

Loreto College offers B.A. General Courses with THREE Electives of which two are Core Electives and one Generic Elective (studied over 2 Semesters only): :

The two Core Electives offered are CC-1Education and CC-2History / Political Science/ English one Generic Elective is to be selected from :Hindi / Bengali / Journalism & Mass Commuication

*Please note, Psychology Honours cannot be taken if the applicant did not have Psychology/Pure Mathematics/Biology as a subject at the Plus Two level (Class XII level). Elective Psychology can be taken only if the applicant had Psychology in Class XII.

*Please note, Elective Geography can be taken only if the applicant had Geography in Class XII.

**Self-financing courses – an additional Monthly Tuition Fee for all the Semesters has to be paid for these. If we do not have at least 25 students opting for each of these courses, the particular course will not be offered.
